The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has chosen three cities as finalists to bid for the chance to host the 2020 Summer Games.
"In the order of drawing lots: Istanbul, Tokyo, and Madrid," said IOC communications director Mark Adams on Wednesday in Quebec City.
The announcement marks the beginning of a 16-month campaign among finalists to win over the IOC before it makes its final selection in September 2013 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Boating Maps are available to order for a nominal fee. They are a vital tool for negotiating NSW waterways and include handy hints for safe boating. The maps are printed on special waterproof paper and can be viewed below prior to purchasing. To place an order contact your local NSW Maritime Office, or order online.
Please note: Due to printing and database management constraints some Boating Maps contained on the NSW Maritime website may be different to the version currently available in printed form. Boating maps for the following areas are as follows: North Coast;
Hunter Inland;
Hawkesbury River/Broken Bay;
Sydney;
South Coast;
Murray Inland; and
Coastal Maps.
